MST Global was proud to participate in Longwall 2026, held 10–11 March at the Rydges Resort in the Hunter Valley—one of Australia’s premier forums for underground coal mining professionals. Bringing together operators, OEMs, and technology leaders, the event focused on advancing safety, automation, and productivity across longwall operations.
At this year’s conference, MST Global shared a stand with our sister company Komatsu Joy Global, an established leader in the industry, demonstrating the strength of our integrated approach to underground mining. The collaboration highlighted how MST’s agnostic communications and digital ecosystem solutions complement Komatsu’s longwall equipment and automation technologies—delivering safer, more efficient, and more connected operations.
Showcasing Intrinsically Safe Innovation

A key focus at the stand was MST’s soon to be released intrinsically safe innovation: the AXON IS Core and AXON IS Air—the newest additions to our safe, scalable digital mining ecosystem.
Purpose-built for coal operations, AXON IS delivers:
- Intrinsically safe connectivity for hazardous environments
- High throughput of up to 2.5 Gbps
- Advanced WiFi 6 capability
- Reliable, always-on communications across development and production zones
Together, these solutions complete MST Global’s coal mine offering—providing compliant, high-performing infrastructure that enables real-time visibility and future-ready digital operations.
Demonstrating the Power of HELIX

MST also showcased demonstrations of the HELIX Platform, highlighting how real-time operational visibility supports critical mining functions, including:
- Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) monitoring
- Integrated asset tracking
- Faceboss system integrations
- Short interval control and production visibility
Combined, AXON IS and HELIX form the digital backbone and operational intelligence required to connect every miner, every asset, and every zone—supporting safer, smarter decision-making underground.
Thought Leadership on Day 2

A highlight of the conference was the presentation by Lyndsay Jobin, GM APAC, MST Global, on Day 2.
Her session explored the growing role of digital transformation in underground mining, with a focus on how connectivity, data, and integrated platforms are enabling improved safety, operational awareness, and productivity across longwall environments.
Engaging the Industry
Across both days, the MST team engaged with customers, partners, and industry peers—sharing insights, outlining solutions, and reinforcing our commitment to innovation in underground coal mining.
Longwall 2026 provided a valuable showcase of how MST Global continues to lead in delivering connected, intrinsically safe, intelligent mining solutions.
